Terms of Service
Last updated: April 20, 2026
1. Agreement
These terms form an agreement between you (“you”, “your”) and AJD Invest AS, a Norwegian company (“Redactum”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Redactum you agree to be bound by them.
2. What Redactum does
Redactum is an AI-assisted redaction tool for PDF documents. You upload a file, describe what should be removed, review the suggestions, and download a version with the target text permanently deleted from the file.
The AI identifies matches; you decide what is actually redacted. We recommend always reviewing the suggestions before downloading. Redactum is a tool, not a legal opinion — you’re responsible for determining what needs to be redacted in your specific context.
3. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use Redactum. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity on your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Credits and payment
- New accounts receive 5 credits free. Additional credits can be purchased through the Buy credits page.
- Credits are billed per page redacted, at the rate shown at the time of purchase. Credits never expire.
- Credits are consumed when you upload a document. If the redaction process itself fails server-side (our error), we automatically refund the credits to your balance.
- Credits are non-transferable between accounts and non-refundable in cash, except where required by law.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. All charges are final once the document is redacted and delivered.
5. Your content and privacy
You retain full ownership of the documents you upload and the redacted output you download. We process your documents only to deliver the service you requested.
Uploaded documents live in server memory for up to 30 minutes and are then deleted automatically. We do not keep copies, we do not use your documents or instructions to train AI models, and we do not share them with anyone other than the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload documents you don’t have the right to redact or store.
- Use Redactum to redact documents for the purpose of concealing unlawful activity, hiding evidence from a legal proceeding, or any other illegal purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or abuse our APIs or infrastructure.
- Resell Redactum’s functionality without a written reseller agreement.
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent the free-tier credit allowance.
7. Service availability
We aim for high availability but don’t guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, update the service, or experience outages from our upstream providers (AI, payments, hosting). We’ll communicate significant planned maintenance in advance where possible.
8. Warranty disclaimer
Redactum is provided “as is”. We don’t warrant that AI-detected redactions will catch every sensitive item, or that a human reviewer wouldn’t have found more. You agree to review the suggested redactions before downloading and accept responsibility for the final output.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Redactum’s total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amounts you paid to us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting support@redactum.no. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, particularly the acceptable-use rules.
Unused credits are forfeited on termination if caused by your breach; otherwise we’ll refund unused credits on a pro-rata basis upon reasonable request.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced to active users by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of Redactum after the changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any dispute arising from them will be resolved in the Norwegian courts, with Oslo tingrett as the agreed venue of first instance.
